Psychotherapy in Golders Green, Haringey and Online

Support in an unstable world

Welcome, my name is Ameet Magan and I am an integrative psychotherapist providing individual and group offering psychotherapy in Golders Green, Haringey and online

If you are reading this, you may be looking for support at a difficult time

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s important to find the right person to walk alongside you. I believe that building a safe and trusting relationship between client and therapist is central to meaningful therapy. It is through this relationship that you can experience personal growth, healing, and the possibility of change.

My own journey began as a client in therapy in my late twenties. That experience was transformative and ultimately inspired me to retrain as a psychotherapist myself. Today, with more than a decade of experience, I work with individuals and groups, offering psychotherapy in Golders Green, Haringey and online, creating a space where you can be heard, understood, and supported.

About Me

I hold an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute and I am an accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Alongside my private practice, I worked for almost a decade as a psychotherapist and clinical practitioner with the NHS in East London, where I also facilitated therapeutic groups. I have also trained in group analysis and hold a Diploma in Groupwork.

I am warm, grounded, and reflective in my way of working. I bring compassion and integrity into every session, and I invite you to bring whatever you need to explore—your anxieties, your feelings, your hopes and fears. Together, we can begin to make sense of your experiences and explore the potential for growth and change.

My Approach

My approach is Integrative, and I use a range of modalities to support my practice.

I will work collaboratively with you and at your pace. Therapy is not being told what to do but about being supported to see yourself more fully, reflect on your experiences and make your own path forward. Effective therapy can act as that mirror to see yourself. Through the therapeutic process, I will support you to gather your thoughts, find your voice and experience yourself in new and empowering ways.

I am humanistic and person-centred, as I believe the relationship between us is vital in building a safe therapeutic space for you to achieve positive change and personal growth.

I also use a psycho-dynamic approach, looking back to your formative experiences and early primary relationships to shed light on current relationship difficulties and blind spots - supporting you to bring into focus often unconscious drivers and motives in repeating unfulfilling relationship dynamics.

I am also informed by existential psychotherapy. Today we seem to be increasingly bombarded by questions of identity and our place and role in the world. We can experience a great gulf between the messaging that we can achieve anything and the reality that life is hard and we can feel stuck, lost and alone.

What I Work With

Over the years, I have supported people with a wide range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, shame, abuse, loss and bereavement. I also have experience working with developmental neglect, abandonment issues, and the deep emotional pain that can come from illness or major life changes.

I have a particular interest in issues of identity, including race, gender, sexuality and disability. I recognise that today’s world can often feel lonely, dehumanising and disorienting, and I aim to provide a space where you can reconnect with yourself and move towards a stronger, more integrated sense of self.

Sessions and Fees

Sessions usually last for 50 minutes and take place weekly, either in person in Golders Green, Haringey or online if you prefer the flexibility of remote therapy. The fee is £75 per session.

I also provide a limited number of reduced-fee places for psychotherapy trainees and those on low income. Initial sessions last for 60 minutes, giving us time to explore what brings you to therapy and whether working together feels like a good fit.

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice; otherwise the session will still be charged.
